Innovative EEG brainwave monitors for sports performance coaching,

neurofeedback therapy practitioners and scientific research

Alpha-Active Ltd is a company dedicated to the design and provision of mental-focus enhancing electroencephalograph (EEG) products and training in sports performance and therapeutic applications.

Who can benefit:

The main field of application of Alpha-Active is in helping individuals to achieve their personal best consistently in challenging situations.

These include sporting events, appearing in front of the public (e.g. performing arts, speeches, business meetings, etc.), and in any stressful situation where clear focus and composure are required.

In the sports field, this is often known as being 'in the zone'and is associated with elevated levels of alpha brain waves.

Alpha-Active EEG coaching technology is also potentially beneficial for:

How it works:

Brainwave patterns are a direct measure of concentration or 'focus' and are optimised routinely by sports men and women to improve performance. Alpha-Active's EEG products and training are based on the fact that when people are in the zone or meditating their brainwave patterns change.

These brainwaves can be monitored by a device called an EEG (electroencephalogram). When a sportsman is in the zone there is often a measurable increase in activity of alpha brainwaves.

Most EEGs are large, expensive, complicated-to-use, mains-powered devices.

Whereas Alpha-Active's range of EEG products builds on patented and proprietary technology and techniques to provide a:

which can work in the sports field even when athletes are actively practising (e.g. drop-kicks, golf swings, serves, rowing action, judo, shooting, archery) because the software is robust to the movement of the user. Our pocket-sized EEG system is specifically optimised, following extensive consultation with professional therapists, sports coaches and university scientists, to measure alpha waves in the sporting and therapies context.

Sophisticated user-friendly software allows sports coaches, practitioners, therapists, etc., and their clients, to relate peaks of performance to 'state of mind' at the time - hence providing a 'neurobiofeedback' mechanism to help reproduce the appropriate alpha wave activity at key pressure moments - thereby providing the competitive edge.
